This format is entirely optional – there is no right or wrong way to structure your comments. The most important thing is that you submit your comments by 11:59 pm on Wednesday, February 4th and that they express your concern and criticism of the NWMO’s project and/or of their Initial Project Description.
- Introduce yourself and your relationship to the issue / project (resident in region, live along the transportation route, live in or near a reactor station, taxpayer / ratepayer, concerned about sustainability or the climate, concerned about nuclear risk)
- Identify a short list of issues you are concerned about
- Search the initial project description for a discussion of that issue or topic
- Comment on what you found: was it adequately described? Were the statements supported with references or sound statements? If you disagree, explain why
- State what you want done: a detailed project description, nwmo required to redo the initial project description
- Mention any process concerns: short comment periods, funding decision following comment period, etc.
- Request that the project be designated for a full review and public hearing
